What is Righteousness?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Have you noticed my podcast is called, ‘Reigning in Righteousness’ and there’s a reason for that. To the casual listener however, this title might sound a bit pretentious. But you might be saying, “are we not all weak worms of the dust Pastor? I thought we were sinners saved by Grace?” But friend, the reality is, we are the righteousness of God now and my purpose in each and every broadcast is to forge and solidify Christ’s righteousness in you. One of the most disturbing doctrines in Christianity today is ‘Calvinism,’ where the congregants of Calvinistic preachers are never really confronted with the true Gospel. I would say this represents almost half of the church as a whole. This mindset is rooted in a false teaching, where God has supposedly ‘foreordained’ those who will be saved and those who will not. Therefore in these churches, no invitations are offered from the pulpit to become ‘born again.’ There are a lot of assumptions going on, assumptions unfortunately that could result in many people never entering into the promise of salvation. Shockingly, the Pastors themselves may not be ‘born again’ and it’s just like the church I grew up in back home. In these churches there are seemingly no testimonies of a solid conversion experience, an encounter with the Holy Spirit or much else for that matter…” – Pastor Carl

Listen to your heart

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“If there’s one thing I want you to do this year… that is to listen to your heart. You know one of the most tragic things that can happen in a Christians life is going through the ‘day to day’ grind, but never discovering the real purpose of why God put you on this earth. Just because you’re born again or even Spirit filled, doesn’t mean you’re going to fulfill the calling God has for you, unless you purposely seek out and discover God’s plan for yourself. Hebrews chapter twelve reveals there’s a specific ‘race’ that is set before you, that only you can run. I can’t run your race for you; neither can you run my race. I truly believe that learning to be led by the Holy Spirit in line with God’s word is the most important lesson we can learn in this lifetime and you need to learn it friend, in order to live out your purpose. By listening to your heart, you will better be able to navigate the course God has for you, but oftentimes we ignore our heart and ‘keep on plodding along’, much to our detriment.” – Pastor Carl

Disturbing Trends

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“This podcast will review some of the most disturbing trends in our society today. Now whenever we desire to predict the future in science, engineering or culture for that matter, we often observe ‘trends.’ If we look that word ‘trend’ up in the dictionary, it means ‘to veer in a new direction,’ or ‘to extend in a general direction,’…But friend, are you not simply alarmed at some of the trends we see in culture today? Even in the past decade, seemingly the moral restraints have been ‘cast off’ and we’re headed in a direction that can only end up in a societal car wreck, if we don’t put the brakes on fast. There are trends in the moral realm, in the economy, in the weather, in fashion, disease, crime, social media, geopolitics, consumer spending, education, and a whole host of others that go to make up the very fabric of our existence. One of the trends I see unfortunately is an ‘apostasy’ or ‘moving away from core values’ upon which most Christian denominations were founded and our Judeo-Christian society as a whole. I believe this to be in direct correlation with the abandonment of God’s word which is the underlying foundation of our society. Right now, we are now reaping the seeds sown in the 1960’s in particular, when prayer was taken out of schools in tandem with the explosion of the sex, drugs and rock n ‘roll culture.” – Pastor Carl

Scriptures often taken out of context

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Our focus in this podcast is one of the most important aspects of studying God’s word and that is keeping scriptural verses within their proper context. By doing so we avoid misinterpreting key elements of God’s word and better glean the true message that God’s purveying in His Holy Writ. This contextual framework is something you should definitely consider in your own private devotional time because if you don’t, then it’s possible to come away with the wrong understanding from the scriptural passage in question. If you attend any Bible college or receive any kind of theological training then naturally a course on ‘hermeneutics’ is standard procedure for most students. Hermeneutics covers the methodological principles of the interpretation of any document and in our case that would be the Holy Bible. One of the primary laws of Bible interpretation is to determine the plain and evident meaning intended by the author, and that would be God in our case. Therefore, isolated scriptures that go against the general character of God warrant further study. As I’ve said multiple times before, “if the plain sense of the scripture makes sense, then seek no other sense.” Yet, in times past, foolish men have allegorized entire books of the Bible, alluding to a deeper ‘hidden’ meaning that simply doesn’t exist. In doing so, they’ve stripped God’s word of its literal meaning and led men down a path of confusion, despair and disillusionment.” – Pastor Carl

Hold Old is the Earth?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“In this podcast, we will discuss one of those golden nuggets, (just like the dinosaurs) that sometimes calls the Christian faith into question and that is, “what exactly is the age of the earth upon which we stand?” …Now traditional Christians will state firmly that the earth was created in six days and any suggestion to the contrary, is an apostate view. And of course when you look at the creation account of ‘this current world,’ it was completed in six literal days as the bible says (more on this current world shortly)… Now according to scientists, the earth is 4.5 billion years old, based on radiometric data fragments from the ‘Canyon Diablo iron meteorite’ but they also warn they could be off by plus or minus 50 million years, so no big deal! Why not plus or minus 1 billion?! The truth is, no-one was there to see creation when it occurred, so no-one really knows how old the earth really is! Now, what got my attention when I first became a believer in Christ; is God’s command to Adam and Eve to ‘replenish’ the earth. If you’ll recall, God commanded Adam and Eve to replenish the earth in Gen 1:28, which infers they were ‘repopulating’ an earth that was once inhabited in a prior timeframe, lets read this passage now…” – Pastor Carl

The Spirit of Truth – John Chapter 14 Part 2

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“John chapters 14, 15, 16 and 17 are pivotal because Jesus is about to go to the cross and during this difficult time He reveals the secrets of God’s Kingdom within these four chapters. The disciples have been with Jesus for almost three years and when they realize Jesus is leaving them, they panic. However, Jesus realizes their predicament and consoles them with news of a ‘comforter’ whom the Father will shortly send in His name. Within this chapter, we learn more about this mysterious ‘comforter,’ which is the Greek word ‘paraklete.’ This word is multi-faceted and in fact has a total of seven meanings. Within the Amplified version of the Bible we learn this word can mean, ‘Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby.’ Let’s find out more of about the specific roles of this comforter in your own life as we study this Gospel chapter together.” – Pastor Carl

The Good Shepherd – John Chapter 10

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Jesus is described as the ‘Good Shepherd’ because He cares for the sheep. In scripture we are a part of His sheepfold and are identified as ‘sheep.’ In contrast, the unbelievers are described as goats. Sheep unfortunately are not the smartest animals in the world. They’re unable to defend themselves from predators and often stray into pastures that contain poisonous shrubs. The Good Shepherd watches over His vulnerable sheep and comes to their rescue at opportune times when ravenous wolves come near or when they’re about to eat the wrong food. Because of these threats the sheep (that’s us) must become intimately acquainted with the voice of the Good Shepherd in order to avoid danger. If we don’t, then we could become susceptible to ‘thieves’ or even the ‘false doctrines’ that wolves often bring. I urge you today to become acquainted with the Good Shepherd, the author of ‘abundant life.'” – Pastor Carl

Daniel’s 70th Week

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Now regarding this strange term, ‘Daniels 70th week,’ what on earth does it all mean? Well let’s remind ourselves of a bit of history. Remember when Israel fell to disobedience and was later exiled by the Babylonian Empire? Few realize, this exile was forewarned by the prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah. Our God is a merciful God and He gives us plenty of warning when He’s going to judge us. Israel unfortunately had repeatedly forsaken their God and whenever anyone does so, only negative consequences can ensue. So what did the prophet Daniel do when he realized these prophecies of Jeremiah and Isaiah, were about to come to pass? He started to pray, as anyone would and basically Daniel chapter nine documents Daniels travail and intercessory prayer for his beloved but rebellious nation of Israel. One of the answers the Lord provided Daniel from His throne was the precise day the Messiah would be ‘cut off’ or crucified. Do you want to find out that day? If so, stay tuned and I will reveal Daniels accurate prophecies of the coming Messiah.” – Pastor Carl

Daniel Chapter 8 – ‘Antiochus Epiphanes’

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Today we’ll continue our study with Daniel chapter 8 specifically. Now, because of the accuracy of Daniel’s visions coming to pass, it has caused several liberals scholars to claim the Book of Daniel is a complete forgery. They claim it was written in about the second century AD because they postulate anyone accurately predicting future world empires is simply impossible! However, God sealed up a time capsule to prove the Book of Daniel to be accurate by allowing the ‘Qumran’ or ‘Dead Sea Scrolls’ to be discovered in 1946. In these scrolls, a complete copy of the Book of Daniel was found, containing the very predictions that exactly match the writings of Daniel, found within the pages of our King James Bible. This threw a ‘wrench in the works’ and liberal scholars had no defense against this monumental discovery of historically accurate parchments, proving once and for all, the prophecies of Daniel in the 6th century BC, not only came to pass exactly as he predicted but the sequence of empires was precise also. ” – Pastor Carl
