Is there a time to die?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Today we will ask the question, “Has God decided beforehand a time for you to die?” The short answer is “no,” but it’s going to take me a while to explain this. There are some of you out there right now who’re already saying, “No Pastor, I thought there was a time to die and when your time is up that’s it and that’s based on the book of Ecclesiastes.” Yes friend, there’s a time to die certainly; everyone on this earth is certainly going to die at some point but it’s not a designated point in time, already decided by God. This is not biblical. God hasn’t got a ‘plug’ upstairs. He doesn’t randomly ‘pull the plug’ on people every day and all of a sudden their time is up and they expire. No, this is not scriptural at all. The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27 27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” It does not say there’s an ‘appointment’ for man’s death, no; it says every man is ‘appointed to die once’ and there’s a vast difference.” – Pastor Carl

The Dangers of Kabbalah

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“What on earth is a Pastor talking about Kabbalah for and what exactly is it? Well it’s fast becoming a serious cult in our day and age. When I look at pop stars today compared to when I was growing up, the occultic images and symbolism used within their music videos are rife. I see pyramids, false God’s, all seeing eyes, illuminati symbolism, Egyptian hieroglyphs etc. and the sad fact is our youth are totally blind to the influence of the occult on their lives when viewing these videos or listening to the music. There’s a thirst among the music industry for all things ancient and occultic and that thirst doesn’t seem to be quenched any time soon. I sincerely believe that one of the reasons for this occultic infiltration into the music industry is Kabbalah but certainly not the only reason. Followers of Hollywood Kabbalah, which is one of the three main branches of Kabbalah, often wear a red cotton bracelet around their wrists as a trademark of their membership and you’ll be surprised when I mention shortly, the famous list of celebrities who follow it’s false creed.” – Pastor Carl

Should we tithe?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Today we’re going to talk about a topic so controversial that quite frankly it can even divide many churches. This topic is ‘tithing’ and there’re lots of arguments for and against it but I hope to add some clarity to this discussion. Now, we at DHOP believe in ‘tithing.’ “Well of course you do Pastor, because all preachers want today is your money…right?” Wrong friend, but I will say this whole message of ‘giving to God’ has been used and abused down the years; that’s for sure. To be honest, some people are so turned off about giving to God; they don’t even attend church anymore! This is really sad because Hebrews 10:25, makes it clear that, “ We should not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” ‘The day’ in this passage is the return of Jesus Christ and we should not forsake fellowship with one another and our assembling together, until that wonderful day.” – Pastor Carl

Radical Islam

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Does the Quran which millions of Muslims hold dear and even on par with the Bible in their eyes, actually teach ‘love, peace and harmony’ with other religions? Or are these so called ‘Islamic extremists’ we see on television, actually carrying out the literal instructions of the prophet Muhammad? Could the people who performed the recent terror attacks all across Europe, really be ‘extremists’ or merely compliant with the written instructions and commands of Muhammad? Are they in fact justified in their beliefs by killing innocent men, women and children who aren’t followers of Allah? And where exactly does it command this outrageous behavior in their writings?…This is a very dangerous broadcast because if I were proclaiming this message on the internet or in my homeland of Great Britain, it would most assuredly be ‘censored’ or even labeled ‘hate speech’ by our politically correct media. Nonetheless, it’s my job as a Pastor to tell you the truth, regardless of the consequences and that’s what I’m going to do in this broadcast.” – Pastor Carl

Why should I read the bible?

readbibleThe bible is the living word of God. Many people want to know more about God, but have not taken the time to pick up the book that was written for them by the Holy Spirit. The bible contains direction for every situation that can occur in this life. 2 Timothy 3:16 says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” We like to call it our day-to-day road map.

For a believer, reading the bible is like having an ever-ready GPS to help you through the most difficult situations life brings. In the bible, you can find passages on topics such as healing and hope to ways to overcome difficult situations and how to find God’s plan for your future. Reading the bible is the true way to tap into all the kingdom has for you before and after you have received Christ. Consistent study is a great way to learn and grow as a believer, but also to keep the flesh in check and to make conscientious decisions.

Find the time to read: today!

Even as a long-time believer, it may be difficult to “find time” to read the bible or spare thirty minutes in your hectic schedule to study. Please do not accept that excuse! We have to make time for such an important part of our day. Having the instructions handy is a key function of success in any area of life. During a standard day, we each make decisions that impact our lives for days, weeks, months or even years. It’s much easier to be in tune with God’s perfect direction and perfect will when we focus on what he’s already shared with us in the Holy Bible.

The reason finding time to read every day is difficult is because it is so important to you and your future! Satan is the father of confusion, and if he can keep you away from the word of God, he can deceive you in your life. His power is in deception and ignorance, so don’t allow a lack of time prevent you from knowing and growing in the sound knowledge of God.

Is your foundation on the rock or on sinking sand?

In Matthew 7:24-27, there is a great story about a man that builds his house on a solid rock and another man that builds his house on sinking sand. The winds and storms of this life came and beat against both houses. The same issues, the same problems, and the same troubles came to the house of both men, but because the solid rock created such a strong foundation, the first man’s house sustained and thrived in the storm. The second man did not fare as well as the first because his house was not on the firm foundation. His house fell. This is a great representation of the importance of hearing and studying the word of God and applying it to our daily life.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:24 that anyone who hears the word of God and applies it is a wise man that builds his house on the rock. Once you have the truth about a situation in your heart, you can apply it. Don’t allow your house to fall by being negligent in study. Devote time to the word and you will find greater peace and wisdom in your spirit to tackle whatever comes up in this life; you will literally be standing on the word of God.

Do not let busyness dissuade you from studying what God has promised for you and your life in the bible.

How do I study?

Some individuals have difficulty understanding the word of God. The answer to this problem is simple: ask the Holy Spirit for guidance as you read and He will assist you in learning. And remember, as you study a specific topic such as faith or wisdom, it is important to find several scriptures on that subject to base your belief system on rather than just one. This will prevent confusion in your study and allow you to see the full breadth of what God says on the area in question. A great resource is a simple one-year bible plan to help stay on track in your reading.
Many bibles have such a plan at the end of the book, but there are a wide variety of options online. One of our favorites is One Year Bible Online. Do you have a resource you use that we haven’t listed? Share with us below!
