The Dangers of Socialism

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“In this podcast we will discuss the ever present and pervasive dangers of Socialism in our culture. Now I’m pretty sure most of you have heard of Karl Marx, the so called ‘father of Marxism’ also coined as ‘Communism’ or ‘Socialism’ in today’s dialect. But did you know that Karl Marx was a ‘God hater’ and his main aim was to usurp the moral and economic foundations of society, with a pamphlet called the ‘Communist Manifesto?’ Now, Karl Marx was born in Trier, Germany on May 5th 1818 and later died in London, England in March of 1883. His father was a successful lawyer and was devoted to the teachings of Voltaire and Kant. Karl was the oldest surviving boy of nine children and of Jewish descent. What is not commonly known; is that Karl Marx was a professing Christian in his youth and his first book was entitled, The Union of the Faithful with Christ. However beginning in his early 20’s a very sharp ‘U-turn’ was made by Marx in his theological outlook, to the point of abandoning his Christian faith and later embracing full scale Atheism. Proof of his recantation was later revealed in several of his personal poems where he expressed his disdain for almighty God…Cleary any love that Marx had for the Lord Jesus Christ was later turned to repulsion and his Communist Manifesto was written in defiance of his previously held Judeo-Christian values.17″ – Pastor Carl

Scriptures often taken out of context

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Our focus in this podcast is one of the most important aspects of studying God’s word and that is keeping scriptural verses within their proper context. By doing so we avoid misinterpreting key elements of God’s word and better glean the true message that God’s purveying in His Holy Writ. This contextual framework is something you should definitely consider in your own private devotional time because if you don’t, then it’s possible to come away with the wrong understanding from the scriptural passage in question. If you attend any Bible college or receive any kind of theological training then naturally a course on ‘hermeneutics’ is standard procedure for most students. Hermeneutics covers the methodological principles of the interpretation of any document and in our case that would be the Holy Bible. One of the primary laws of Bible interpretation is to determine the plain and evident meaning intended by the author, and that would be God in our case. Therefore, isolated scriptures that go against the general character of God warrant further study. As I’ve said multiple times before, “if the plain sense of the scripture makes sense, then seek no other sense.” Yet, in times past, foolish men have allegorized entire books of the Bible, alluding to a deeper ‘hidden’ meaning that simply doesn’t exist. In doing so, they’ve stripped God’s word of its literal meaning and led men down a path of confusion, despair and disillusionment.” – Pastor Carl

Boundaries

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“The title of this podcast might seem strange at first but I’ve thought at length recently about the importance of both establishing and enforcing boundaries in our lives. Now in order to be successful according to God’s definition (as the book of Proverbs attests especially), then we need to be practitioners of both discipline and diligence. Diligent to oversee and manage the various possessions we might own and the requisite maintenance for each vehicle we drive, for example. And diligent to watch over our families and perhaps the internet usage of our teenagers…need I say more. Diligent to do our part in the workplace by not cutting corners but going the extra mile when and where an opportunity arises. We also need to be disciplined in the areas of health, physical exercise, moral restraint, financial affairs and the various other components that go to make up the fabric of our everyday life. Yet I consider establishing boundaries as an important marker of success, especially in relationships and an essential aspect of discipline that often gets overlooked. In fact, these boundaries are mentioned in the Bible.” – Pastor Carl

The Origin of Christmas

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“It should be noted that regarding the origins of the Christmas festival, the early Church fathers introduced the celebration of our savior under numerous dates. Some dates suggested were; March 25th, April 2nd, May 20th, Nov 8th, Dec 25th and finally Jan 6th. It was finally agreed upon that December 25th was the most suitable because it supposedly coincided with the winter solstice on the Julian calendar, marking the beginning of the victory of light over darkness, after the year’s longest night. Clement of Alexandria pointed out that because Jesus is called the ‘Sun of righteousness,’ (Malachi 4:2), then December 25th was the most suitable of these potential dates for our annual celebration. In most European countries gifts are exchanged on Christmas Eve, in keeping with the notion that the baby Jesus was born on the night of the 24th, (which of course is a myth and I will expound upon this shortly.) The morning of December 25th, has of course become the most popular time for exchanging gifts in North America. In 17th and 18th century Europe the modest exchange of gifts took place in the early hours of the 25th, when the family returned home from ‘Christmas mass’ and this tradition continues today.” – Pastor Carl

Hold Old is the Earth?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“In this podcast, we will discuss one of those golden nuggets, (just like the dinosaurs) that sometimes calls the Christian faith into question and that is, “what exactly is the age of the earth upon which we stand?” …Now traditional Christians will state firmly that the earth was created in six days and any suggestion to the contrary, is an apostate view. And of course when you look at the creation account of ‘this current world,’ it was completed in six literal days as the bible says (more on this current world shortly)… Now according to scientists, the earth is 4.5 billion years old, based on radiometric data fragments from the ‘Canyon Diablo iron meteorite’ but they also warn they could be off by plus or minus 50 million years, so no big deal! Why not plus or minus 1 billion?! The truth is, no-one was there to see creation when it occurred, so no-one really knows how old the earth really is! Now, what got my attention when I first became a believer in Christ; is God’s command to Adam and Eve to ‘replenish’ the earth. If you’ll recall, God commanded Adam and Eve to replenish the earth in Gen 1:28, which infers they were ‘repopulating’ an earth that was once inhabited in a prior timeframe, lets read this passage now…” – Pastor Carl

Atheism is Denial

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Heywood Brown once said, “Nobody talks so constantly about God as those who insist that there is no God.Today we will discuss one little word and that word is atheism. Now, Atheism has been defined as, ‘the dogmatic denial of the existence of God’ or more specifically ‘a personal God.’ There’s a mindset that Atheism is merely choosing not to believe in God or there’s no such thing as God because mankind has yet to provide any tangible evidence for His existence. The trouble is, scripture makes it very clear in the Book of Romans that this mindset is really a symptom of a rebellious heart because God has revealed Himself through two branches, namely His creation and our conscience, so that man is without excuse for acknowledging Almighty God’s existence. I’m sure you’re familiar with this passage regarding God’s creation, but let me read it to you, Romans 1:20, 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” Who’s they?…That’s us!” – Pastor Carl

Calvinism vs. Arminianism

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“These terms will never reach 80-90% of Christians in their lifetime, as they’re discussed in seminary schools but I think it’s important to share these viewpoints with you. In fact, you may be shocked to find out the fruit of either of these two doctrines heavily influence the sermons your pastor preaches each week. Now you may or may not realize but depending upon which church denomination you attend, it will adopt one of these two theological viewpoints. These two doctrines were developed by two famous 16th century men, living decades apart. Albeit I will say, one doctrine is correct in its interpretation of God’s word and the other is very wrong. Later on this broadcast, I’m going to share with you, the denominations that wrongly believe in Calvinism and rightly believe Arminianism. The truth is Calvinism, (which I sincerely believe to be a false teaching and rooted in Gnosticism), has deeply infiltrated the Protestant Church and even the evangelical church in recent years.” – Pastor Carl

Daniel Chapter 8 – ‘Antiochus Epiphanes’

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Today we’ll continue our study with Daniel chapter 8 specifically. Now, because of the accuracy of Daniel’s visions coming to pass, it has caused several liberals scholars to claim the Book of Daniel is a complete forgery. They claim it was written in about the second century AD because they postulate anyone accurately predicting future world empires is simply impossible! However, God sealed up a time capsule to prove the Book of Daniel to be accurate by allowing the ‘Qumran’ or ‘Dead Sea Scrolls’ to be discovered in 1946. In these scrolls, a complete copy of the Book of Daniel was found, containing the very predictions that exactly match the writings of Daniel, found within the pages of our King James Bible. This threw a ‘wrench in the works’ and liberal scholars had no defense against this monumental discovery of historically accurate parchments, proving once and for all, the prophecies of Daniel in the 6th century BC, not only came to pass exactly as he predicted but the sequence of empires was precise also. ” – Pastor Carl
