The Spirit of Truth – John Chapter 14 Part 2

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“John chapters 14, 15, 16 and 17 are pivotal because Jesus is about to go to the cross and during this difficult time He reveals the secrets of God’s Kingdom within these four chapters. The disciples have been with Jesus for almost three years and when they realize Jesus is leaving them, they panic. However, Jesus realizes their predicament and consoles them with news of a ‘comforter’ whom the Father will shortly send in His name. Within this chapter, we learn more about this mysterious ‘comforter,’ which is the Greek word ‘paraklete.’ This word is multi-faceted and in fact has a total of seven meanings. Within the Amplified version of the Bible we learn this word can mean, ‘Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby.’ Let’s find out more of about the specific roles of this comforter in your own life as we study this Gospel chapter together.” – Pastor Carl

The True Vine

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Are you aware of the pruning mechanism that occurs in your life? John Chapter fifteen reveals a powerful illustration in which God the Father is revealed as the ‘husbandmen’ or ‘cultivator.’ God desires fruit from you, whether you realize it or not. This fruit takes time to grow. In this chapter of the Gospels we learn about our role as a ‘branch’ in God’s tree. Jesus is ‘the vine’ to which we ‘branches’ must remain attached. If we are to bear fruit on a continual basis in our lives, we must voluntarily choose to be attached to Christ’s vine. Once we’re attached, His word must abide within us. Once these two criteria are met, only then can the Father harvest the fruit that He so desires. The Father ‘prunes’ us occasionally to bear more fruit down the road. We all know the pruning process isn’t necessarily comfortable but it’s requisite and for our benefit. We are to be fruit bearers and this powerful chapter describes the process that we are all subject to, on an ongoing basis.” – Pastor Carl

The Last Trump

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Today we will turn our attention to one of the most famous Rapture passages in the Bible and this is of course 1st Corinthians 15:50-57. The Latin verb rapio means “to snatch, or seize” and this is where we get the word English word ‘rapture’ from. This passage speaks explicitly of the transformation that will occur when we’re caught up with Jesus ‘in the air’ and our simultaneous transformation into glory, by exchanging our corruptible body into an incorruptible one. Now as you know, we at DHOP believe in the ‘pre-tribulation rapture’ of the church, or ‘the blessed hope’ spoken of in Titus 2:13. The logical question concerning the end times is, ‘How can anyone have ‘hope,’ if we the Bride of Christ will be dragged through the mud, blood and fire in the catastrophic events of the seven year tribulation period?’ There’s no hope whatsoever if that’s the case, yet some Christians wrongly insist on this false premise that we the Church will endure ‘God’s wrath’ because they simply don’t comprehend the love of God the Father. A loving Father would never allow His Son’s bride to endure the very wrath that Jesus took for us on the cross. On seven occasions in the Book of Revelation the tribulation period is described as the ‘wrath of God’ (Rev 19:15, Rev 16:19, Rev 16:1, Rev 15:7, Rev 15:1, Rev 14:10, Rev 14:19).” – Pastor Carl

Historical events in the Bible – Daniel Chapter 2

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“There’s no better way to witness to our friends, family and colleagues than to reveal to them that history is written in the bible… in advance! Yes I said it, God wrote historical events in advance, having full knowledge of their outcome, whether they be battles, empires, kings that would rise and fall, or even the rise, fall and rebirth of the nation of Israel itself. Think about it, if we compare Jehovah God, Jesus Christ to the pantheon of other false Gods, none of these ‘false Gods’ or ‘prophetic pretenders’ foretold events like our God does in His Word. In some cases these prophecies were given, hundreds of years prior to their realization. That’s why the Holy Bible is unique among all other religious writings because it houses the truth written by a God, living outside our space-time continuum, who’s ‘ever present,’ ‘all seeing,’ ‘all powerful’ and ‘all knowing.’ Today we will study Daniel Chapter 2 and King Nebuchadnezzar’s metallic statue.” – Pastor Carl

Stories of Healing

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“God is equipping the saints (that’s you), through the fivefold ministerial offices (Eph 4:11), so you will be ready when God asks you to move by faith. So let me begin now by sharing several real life testimonies of how God used me, when I first became ‘born again.’ The first testimony concerns the miraculous healing of cancer. I have a dear friend from Stafford, Texas called Dolores. Now I befriended this lady and her wonderful husband Roel, who’s a godly man, whilst living in Houston, Texas in the early 2000’s. Anyway when I mentioned in a previous broadcast of the time when I prayed for the lady with the brain tumor at a nearby food pantry, Dolores was by my side. She was volunteering that very same day and she’s a great woman of faith. Now during 2003, Roel’s sister Linda, was unfortunately diagnosed with Cancer of the lymph-nodes and she chose not to do chemotherapy. She was also a practicing Catholic but unfortunately her local priest was not willing to pray for her to receive healing or didn’t believe the Lord could move in that regard today. So that’s when myself and Dolores offered to pray for her.” – Pastor Carl

Did Jesus Exist?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“This broadcast is in response to a documentary I recently watched from the UK in which a so-called, “religious expert” had stated in a publicly televised debate, “there was no evidence that Jesus Christ ever existed!” This wasn’t ‘Brexit’ but apparently the complete exit of Jesus from Europe’s history books! Frankly, I nearly fell off my chair upon hearing this false claim and having been born in the UK, my blood started to boil. This woman denied that Christ ever existed…at all! Which is definitely a counterfactual statement rooted in either ignorance at best or perhaps nefarious Gnosticism at the very worst (1 John 4:3). Despite numerous so called ‘Christians’ being present in this live debate, I was most perturbed that not one of them confronted this so called ‘expert’s’ ignorance. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for education but we shouldn’t educate ourselves at the expense of common sense and sound judgment. Let’s do our homework before we spout out a level of ignorance which frankly embarrasses someone holding the credentials of a scholar, reputedly at the Doctoral level.” – Pastor Carl

Are you handed over to the tormentors?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Let me ask you this, have you been handed over to the tormentors?…Doesn’t sound like fun does it? What an odd question you might ask, and who are these tormentors anyway? Well the Gospels have the answer and especially the Gospel of Matthew. Here’s the deal, if you’re lacking joy and peace in your life for sustained periods of weeks, months or even years, then there’s something wrong with your Christian walk friend! Evidently you’re not experiencing the abundant, joyful ‘zoë’ life that Christ provided for you, when He died on the cross and rose again. It’s not the normal condition of a ‘Spirit filled Christian,’ to just mope around in life, from one day to the next, feeling down in the dumps and full of angst. This should not be the ‘status quo’ for us. Satan could be robbing your ‘joy’ and it’s time to take it back! And why not during this broadcast? In fact I suggest you could be under demonic spiritual attack or ‘oppression’ as it’s called, without realizing it because of the legal grounds you’ve given Satan in the spiritual realm by giving him place (Eph 4:27).” – Pastor Carl

The Homosexual Lifestyle

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“If America was on the operating table right now, some would contend its pulse is weak, the heart palpitating, its eyes dilated and with every symptom pointing towards imminent death. The moral fabric of this nation is eroding so swiftly, it’s hard to keep up with the latest depth of depravity or rebellious ruckus in the corporate sponsored and government censored, news media. Morality my friend is the foundation of any nation; it’s the compass that steers us toward either godliness or lawlessness. Governments come and go, but God remains. The US Government may declare new boundaries of marriage, in the Supreme Court in the ruling of Obergefell vs. Hodges on June 26th, 2015 but “Holy Matrimony” is decreed by God. Therefore, government has no right to amend what it did not instigate. I will say it again, government has no right to amend what it didn’t instigate and because it didn’t ratify marriage in the first place, it has no right to amend the definition of it, only God does, and He isn’t changing it any time soon.” – Pastor Carl

Justification vs. Glorification

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Today we’re talking about the difference between being ‘justified’ and ‘glorified.’ Now you might say who cares Pastor? But what I’m about to share with you is rudimentary orthodox Christian doctrine. These are tenets of the faith that you must be aware of! The focus of our discussion will be Romans Chapters 6-8. Here the Apostle Paul reveals the perpetual vacillation between our flesh and spirit, the various temptations we encounter and God’s limitless grace to overcome them. Let’s start our broadcast today with Deuteronomy chapter 32 which is a powerful passage that reveals God’s righteousness, “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: For all his ways are judgment: A God of truth and without iniquity, Just and right is he.” God’s righteousness is immutable; He is ‘the Rock’ upon which we stand! He’s someone you can count upon. He’s stable, He never changes, He can be trusted and He is for you, not ‘against’ you (Rom 8:31). God is not a respecter of persons; He is fair; in fact He’s the ultimate definition of fair. What He’s done for one He will do for another.” – Pastor Carl

Is there a time to die?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Today we will ask the question, “Has God decided beforehand a time for you to die?” The short answer is “no,” but it’s going to take me a while to explain this. There are some of you out there right now who’re already saying, “No Pastor, I thought there was a time to die and when your time is up that’s it and that’s based on the book of Ecclesiastes.” Yes friend, there’s a time to die certainly; everyone on this earth is certainly going to die at some point but it’s not a designated point in time, already decided by God. This is not biblical. God hasn’t got a ‘plug’ upstairs. He doesn’t randomly ‘pull the plug’ on people every day and all of a sudden their time is up and they expire. No, this is not scriptural at all. The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27 27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” It does not say there’s an ‘appointment’ for man’s death, no; it says every man is ‘appointed to die once’ and there’s a vast difference.” – Pastor Carl
