The Origin of Christmas

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“It should be noted that regarding the origins of the Christmas festival, the early Church fathers introduced the celebration of our savior under numerous dates. Some dates suggested were; March 25th, April 2nd, May 20th, Nov 8th, Dec 25th and finally Jan 6th. It was finally agreed upon that December 25th was the most suitable because it supposedly coincided with the winter solstice on the Julian calendar, marking the beginning of the victory of light over darkness, after the year’s longest night. Clement of Alexandria pointed out that because Jesus is called the ‘Sun of righteousness,’ (Malachi 4:2), then December 25th was the most suitable of these potential dates for our annual celebration. In most European countries gifts are exchanged on Christmas Eve, in keeping with the notion that the baby Jesus was born on the night of the 24th, (which of course is a myth and I will expound upon this shortly.) The morning of December 25th, has of course become the most popular time for exchanging gifts in North America. In 17th and 18th century Europe the modest exchange of gifts took place in the early hours of the 25th, when the family returned home from ‘Christmas mass’ and this tradition continues today.” – Pastor Carl

America Under Attack

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“America is under attack…I repeat America is under attack but not from missiles or tanks or by air or sea…No, this attack is happening under the radar, subversive, clandestine, by stealth, in the hush of night under ‘cloak and dagger,’ with its sole aim, to strip us of our God given liberties by introducing a socialistic agenda that will be the vehicle to bring in a New World Order. You see under President Obama, his socialistic agenda was trucking along nicely for eight straight years until it finally crashed headlong into the brick wall of Donald Trump’s presidency. As you know, America is the last bastion of freedom that stands in the way of a sinister and subversive Globalist agenda. Their desire is to create a ruling oligarchy from the top down and akin to the old feudal system outlined by the Fabian Society. America has long been the spear that sticks in the eye of globalist domination and right now President Donald Trump is the tip of that spear. People commonly think that during times of war that nations are their most vulnerable yet what is often overlooked is that during peace time, when our guard is down, we are potentially the most exposed to nefarious internal forces that seek to corrupt the nation and its highest office. It’s during peacetime that our enemies try to strip us of that which has been gained from the spoils of victory, when no-one’s paying close attention.” – Pastor Carl

Hold Old is the Earth?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“In this podcast, we will discuss one of those golden nuggets, (just like the dinosaurs) that sometimes calls the Christian faith into question and that is, “what exactly is the age of the earth upon which we stand?” …Now traditional Christians will state firmly that the earth was created in six days and any suggestion to the contrary, is an apostate view. And of course when you look at the creation account of ‘this current world,’ it was completed in six literal days as the bible says (more on this current world shortly)… Now according to scientists, the earth is 4.5 billion years old, based on radiometric data fragments from the ‘Canyon Diablo iron meteorite’ but they also warn they could be off by plus or minus 50 million years, so no big deal! Why not plus or minus 1 billion?! The truth is, no-one was there to see creation when it occurred, so no-one really knows how old the earth really is! Now, what got my attention when I first became a believer in Christ; is God’s command to Adam and Eve to ‘replenish’ the earth. If you’ll recall, God commanded Adam and Eve to replenish the earth in Gen 1:28, which infers they were ‘repopulating’ an earth that was once inhabited in a prior timeframe, lets read this passage now…” – Pastor Carl

The War of Gog and Magog

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“There’s a war soon coming in the Middle East that will cause God himself to rain down hailstones and fire upon the invading armies who’ve come to take spoil from His beloved Israel and a great earthquake that will annihilate them in their tracks. And what if I were to tell you, there are preparations being made right now for this future conflict? But as I’ve said before, we the church will never see it come to pass because this war of ‘Gog and Magog’ fits the prophetic timeline only when the church or ‘restrainer’ has been removed from the earth, prior to the seven year tribulation period. Yet even today, the nations are ready; the pieces on the chess board are being moved into place, causing an inevitable chain reaction that will hurl like minded nations headlong into direct conflict with Israel and ultimately God Himself. Let me now share our source text with you for this podcast, I’m of course talking about the infamous ‘War of Gog and Magog,’ spoken of in chapters 37-39 from the prophetic Book of Ezekiel. So what are these terms

‘Gog’ and ‘Magog’ and what do they represent? What on earth is a ‘Gog’ and what is a ‘Magog’ exactly?” – Pastor Carl

The Dangers of Secular Humanism

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“There are four systems of atheism that have wreaked havoc upon humanity since the 19th century. These four so called ‘isms’, are: Positivism, Secularism, Pessimism and Socialism. The focus of this podcast will be the second item on this list, namely Secularism. If one looks this word up in the dictionary, you’ll soon realize it categorizes the complete and utter removal of God from society and the denial of any supernatural element of our existence. For secularists, everything in the universe must be explainable in terms of natural law. The supernatural components of our creation are ignored and of course God is ignored because He’s our supernatural creator. In summary, secular humanism has become the philosophy that ‘man’ is the chief end of man, and that man’s happiness is his supreme purpose. However, Paul Johnson the famous British historian gives us this dire warning, “Christ’s central theme is that God, not man, is the final authority. God has rights, human beings have duties; we deny God His rights at our peril.”… Amen to that! The truth is friend, we are put on this earth to ‘serve,’ and our pivotal focus is not ourselves but serving others is the purpose of our existence.” – Pastor Carl

Atheism is Denial

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Heywood Brown once said, “Nobody talks so constantly about God as those who insist that there is no God.Today we will discuss one little word and that word is atheism. Now, Atheism has been defined as, ‘the dogmatic denial of the existence of God’ or more specifically ‘a personal God.’ There’s a mindset that Atheism is merely choosing not to believe in God or there’s no such thing as God because mankind has yet to provide any tangible evidence for His existence. The trouble is, scripture makes it very clear in the Book of Romans that this mindset is really a symptom of a rebellious heart because God has revealed Himself through two branches, namely His creation and our conscience, so that man is without excuse for acknowledging Almighty God’s existence. I’m sure you’re familiar with this passage regarding God’s creation, but let me read it to you, Romans 1:20, 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” Who’s they?…That’s us!” – Pastor Carl

Calvinism vs. Arminianism

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“These terms will never reach 80-90% of Christians in their lifetime, as they’re discussed in seminary schools but I think it’s important to share these viewpoints with you. In fact, you may be shocked to find out the fruit of either of these two doctrines heavily influence the sermons your pastor preaches each week. Now you may or may not realize but depending upon which church denomination you attend, it will adopt one of these two theological viewpoints. These two doctrines were developed by two famous 16th century men, living decades apart. Albeit I will say, one doctrine is correct in its interpretation of God’s word and the other is very wrong. Later on this broadcast, I’m going to share with you, the denominations that wrongly believe in Calvinism and rightly believe Arminianism. The truth is Calvinism, (which I sincerely believe to be a false teaching and rooted in Gnosticism), has deeply infiltrated the Protestant Church and even the evangelical church in recent years.” – Pastor Carl

The Dangers of the Ecumenical Movement

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“The Bible is explicit and exclusive concerning the reality that Jesus is the only way to heaven.

That means that all the Jews, Muslims, Mormons, Catholics, Jehovah’s witnesses, Protestants, Anglicans, Baptists or Pentecostals all need to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord Savior and if they don’t, they’ll spend an eternity separated from God in a literal Hell of eternal punishment. Just because you’ve sat in a church pew for 30 years doesn’t mean you’re saved anymore than sitting in a garage makes you a car! It’s the relationship you hold with Jesus Christ that defines your eternal destination and there are no second chances after you leave this earth. Currently, there’s a rapid rise in a moving away from true gospel orthodoxy. This apostasy or ecumenicity is rife and many pastors right now focus on God’s love and acceptance without stressing the crucial aspects of repentance, humility, sanctification and the acknowledgment of our sinful condition. They preach a Gospel without repentance, declaring that any path to God is acceptable, as we all end up at the same destination in the end right?…Wrong!” – Pastor Carl

Is God responsible for natural disasters?

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Today we will discuss the very controversial topic of natural disasters. Now this is a very sensitive subject matter and understandably so based on recent catastrophic events that have rocked these United States especially in recent weeks. The truth is natural disasters have been raging upon our earth since the beginning of time and they’re documented within the pages of the Bible also. People’s lives can be ruined by these disasters and the reconstruction of cities can take years to complete. I don’t pretend to have all the answers but I will share with you what God’s word has to say about it. Whenever hurricanes, earthquakes or tsunami’s occur in various parts of the world, the inevitable question becomes “are these disasters caused by natural weather cycles, or are they ‘Gods divine judgment’ or perhaps even a ‘work of the devil?'” The answer to this is complex question is in fact ‘yes’ to all of the above, or a combination because scripture points to all three possibilities.” – Pastor Carl

The Power of Peace

Articles-header

Peace2Friends, I want to tell you right now that without doubt the foremost condition of every Christian at all times should be peace. This peace is independent of circumstances. I can hear you say, “Wait a minute pastor, life has its demands and pressures; we can’t be in peace all the time?” Yes, my friend, we can because it supernaturally abides within us. Peace is a gift that Christ gave us and peace is also our umpire in decision making. The Apostle Paul wrote about this issue to the church at Colossae. This supernatural peace should rule and reign inside us.

15 And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts (deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state) to which as (members of Christ’s) one body you were also called (to live). And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always]” – Colossians 3:15 (AMP).

We should not however confuse this peace with a fleeting emotion that comes and goes; it is an abiding peace because it is not only a fruit of the Holy Spirit but an attribute of the Kingdom of God. In the book of Romans, the apostle Paul defines the kingdom of God and its attributes, “17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.“ – Romans 14:17.

Righteousness and Joy

Think of righteousness and joy as bookends with peace slotted in the middle. As we attain righteousness with God as a function of our salvation, we are then able to receive ‘abiding peace’ within our hearts and from that peace, joy bubbles forth. Our peace is despite the circumstances. It is not contingent upon outcomes because it’s a supernatural influence that comes from the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. I had recently gotten into the ‘molly grubs”, even though things seemed to be working out for good in my life, I had a heavy heart. I seemed to be in “endurance mode”, rather than appreciating the joy of life in the day to day. I had lost peace, and it was my fault, why? Because Jesus had already given peace to me, “27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” – (John 14:27).

Notice the onus is on us to steward the peace that Jesus bestowed; we are the ones who have the choice to let ourselves be ‘troubled’ or ‘afraid’. My old mentor, Ann Vincent would always say to me “If you’ve lost your peace, you’ve messed up somewhere”. She was a powerful woman of God who moved in a strong anointing that seemingly never waned. Her secret? Peace. She oozed peace every time I was with her. Ann demonstrated abundant peace in her life and she is a great example to us all. She also moved in the power of God. Peace and power go hand in hand; they are twins. If we get out of peace, we get into the ‘flesh’ and we lose faith in God’s power because faith works by love (Gal 5:6). Did you know that Jesus commanded the disciples to bring peace to the houses they visited? The presence of God brings peace and the disciples were paragons of peace, distributing it wherever they went, the scripture makes it clear, “And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you” – Matthew 10:13.

Anxiety: Abstract Fear or Apprehension

The Holy Spirit revealed to me that as time had passed, I had allowed anxiety to creep in. Anxiety is an interesting word because by definition it’s an abnormal feeling of fear or apprehension but not necessarily tied to anything specific. It can be hard to fight against because it’s a more generic ongoing condition that is felt. The problem is if we meditate on this feeling of dread or fear concerning the future we may start believing that something ‘bad’ is going to happen. The very fact that you meditate on this over and over could cause it to become a reality in your life. Living in regret or worrying about the future will always rob us from the ‘now’. What time is it? The time is ‘now’. The time is always now. “Now faith is” (Hebrews 11:1). Replaying the sorrows of yesterday and dreading what’s to come; will put you in a place of misery and misery my friend is not a place where Christians should be. Misery and fear have torment; that is Satan’s territory, get out of it immediately.

There is a fascinating statement that Christ made in Matthew 6:31, “31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?” Did you catch that? Jesus said you take a thought…by saying it. Once you start verbalizing what is in your mind, you are ‘taking the thought’. Not every thought is from the devil of course, we rationalize in our minds daily as we muse over decisions, but it is the penetrating or interjecting thought that is either from God or Satan. The easiest way to discern the thought’s origin is to compare it to the word of God. If it’s accusatory in nature or discouraging it’s not from God. Guard your mind! Satan is not in the encouragement business (1st Peter 5:8). So what do we do to restore peace? Firstly, we must cast our care, “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully” – 1st Peter 5:7 (AMP). We need to get into the habit of saying, “I couldn’t care less, God is taking care of everything in my life and He is trustworthy!” Let go of your anxiety, cast your care, pray and thank Him for the answer, it’s that simple. This scripture sums it all up…“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” – Philippians 4:6 (NASB).

Friends, it’s time to get your peace back! What are you waiting for? Spend time with the Holy Spirit today and take back what the enemy has stolen. Peace is not something to look for, it’s always inside of you, it’s time to reconnect with the tranquility in your heart (that Christ won for you), cast your care and feel the peace of the Lord once again!
