The Spirit of Truth – John Chapter 14 Part 2

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“John chapters 14, 15, 16 and 17 are pivotal because Jesus is about to go to the cross and during this difficult time He reveals the secrets of God’s Kingdom within these four chapters. The disciples have been with Jesus for almost three years and when they realize Jesus is leaving them, they panic. However, Jesus realizes their predicament and consoles them with news of a ‘comforter’ whom the Father will shortly send in His name. Within this chapter, we learn more about this mysterious ‘comforter,’ which is the Greek word ‘paraklete.’ This word is multi-faceted and in fact has a total of seven meanings. Within the Amplified version of the Bible we learn this word can mean, ‘Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby.’ Let’s find out more of about the specific roles of this comforter in your own life as we study this Gospel chapter together.” – Pastor Carl

The Good Shepherd – John Chapter 10

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Jesus is described as the ‘Good Shepherd’ because He cares for the sheep. In scripture we are a part of His sheepfold and are identified as ‘sheep.’ In contrast, the unbelievers are described as goats. Sheep unfortunately are not the smartest animals in the world. They’re unable to defend themselves from predators and often stray into pastures that contain poisonous shrubs. The Good Shepherd watches over His vulnerable sheep and comes to their rescue at opportune times when ravenous wolves come near or when they’re about to eat the wrong food. Because of these threats the sheep (that’s us) must become intimately acquainted with the voice of the Good Shepherd in order to avoid danger. If we don’t, then we could become susceptible to ‘thieves’ or even the ‘false doctrines’ that wolves often bring. I urge you today to become acquainted with the Good Shepherd, the author of ‘abundant life.'” – Pastor Carl

Daniel’s 70th Week

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Now regarding this strange term, ‘Daniels 70th week,’ what on earth does it all mean? Well let’s remind ourselves of a bit of history. Remember when Israel fell to disobedience and was later exiled by the Babylonian Empire? Few realize, this exile was forewarned by the prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah. Our God is a merciful God and He gives us plenty of warning when He’s going to judge us. Israel unfortunately had repeatedly forsaken their God and whenever anyone does so, only negative consequences can ensue. So what did the prophet Daniel do when he realized these prophecies of Jeremiah and Isaiah, were about to come to pass? He started to pray, as anyone would and basically Daniel chapter nine documents Daniels travail and intercessory prayer for his beloved but rebellious nation of Israel. One of the answers the Lord provided Daniel from His throne was the precise day the Messiah would be ‘cut off’ or crucified. Do you want to find out that day? If so, stay tuned and I will reveal Daniels accurate prophecies of the coming Messiah.” – Pastor Carl

The Dangers of Fornication

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“The Lexham Cultural Dictionary defines ‘Fornication’ this way, “the practice of engaging in immoral sexual activity, but especially that which is outside the bounds of a marriage covenant.” Its general meaning refers to ‘any’ and ‘every’ kind of sexual intercourse except between a husband and wife. In other words, any form of sexual activity outside of the marriage covenant is labeled as ‘fornication’ and therefore ‘immoral’ according to the Holy Bible. If you’re a Christian listening to this broadcast, you shouldn’t be engaging in or practicing fornication. If you are, then you’re leaving the door wide open for the devil to set up camp in your life (Eph 4:27). Few realize that when you make love to someone, you’re joining your very soul to that person. If sex is performed outside the sanctity of the marriage covenant, then you’re leaving yourself wide open to relentless spiritual.” – Pastor Carl

The True Vine

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Are you aware of the pruning mechanism that occurs in your life? John Chapter fifteen reveals a powerful illustration in which God the Father is revealed as the ‘husbandmen’ or ‘cultivator.’ God desires fruit from you, whether you realize it or not. This fruit takes time to grow. In this chapter of the Gospels we learn about our role as a ‘branch’ in God’s tree. Jesus is ‘the vine’ to which we ‘branches’ must remain attached. If we are to bear fruit on a continual basis in our lives, we must voluntarily choose to be attached to Christ’s vine. Once we’re attached, His word must abide within us. Once these two criteria are met, only then can the Father harvest the fruit that He so desires. The Father ‘prunes’ us occasionally to bear more fruit down the road. We all know the pruning process isn’t necessarily comfortable but it’s requisite and for our benefit. We are to be fruit bearers and this powerful chapter describes the process that we are all subject to, on an ongoing basis.” – Pastor Carl

The Beasts of Daniel Chapter 7

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“The beasts of this chapter represent various brutal World empires that cruelly ravaged the people of God. That’s why these empires are in the form of a ‘beast’ which is a lower being, exhibiting the savagery of an animal and the harsh treatment of God’s people. The first beast was of course Babylon, symbolic of the ‘lion,’ which had Eagle’s wings. If you look at the symbol of Babylon, a lion is without doubt the national symbol of this nation. This first beast is a ‘hybrid,’ having traits of both lion and eagle. The lion of course, is the king of the animal kingdom and the eagle being the head of the bird kingdom. This truly reflects Babylon which was the head of all empires at the time. Notice this animal had its two wings ‘plucked’ and a ‘man’s heart’ was given to it. The plucking of the wings refers to the insanity that King Nebuchadnezzar exhibited and the subsequent humbling he experienced at God’s hand. After spending several years living in the wilderness, the king was eventually converted to Christ and His heart changed; an apt description of a ‘beast’ receiving a ‘man’s heart.'” – Pastor Carl

Surveillance Society

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Like it or not; you are living in a surveillance society and one that you may not be even aware of. Someone once said, that “privacy is the foundation of a free society,” and if that’s a true statement (and I believe it is), then our society is rapidly losing its freedom and showing no signs of abating. Freedom is of course the basis of all democratic societies which are founded upon Judeo-Christian principles. These principles stem from the Torah, the book of Isaiah, the book of Proverbs and the Gospels. When George Orwell penned his now infamous novel of a coming technocratic dystopia in sharp contrast to the statues of true democracy, it was a society in which ‘everyone’ and ‘everything’ was monitored on a continual basis. But little did Orwell know that almost 68 years after he wrote the novel, ‘1984’, his envisioned technocracy would be well on its way to completion in our present day and age. The cold hard truth is that right now, as George stated, “Big Brother truly is watching you” and video cameras literally capture our every move, just as they did in Orwell’s sinister novel. Even your credit cards have recently had RFID chips installed in them and now provide a far greater level of intrusion via increased surveillance sophistication, unlike the credit card companies of yesteryear.” – Pastor Carl

The Last Trump

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“Today we will turn our attention to one of the most famous Rapture passages in the Bible and this is of course 1st Corinthians 15:50-57. The Latin verb rapio means “to snatch, or seize” and this is where we get the word English word ‘rapture’ from. This passage speaks explicitly of the transformation that will occur when we’re caught up with Jesus ‘in the air’ and our simultaneous transformation into glory, by exchanging our corruptible body into an incorruptible one. Now as you know, we at DHOP believe in the ‘pre-tribulation rapture’ of the church, or ‘the blessed hope’ spoken of in Titus 2:13. The logical question concerning the end times is, ‘How can anyone have ‘hope,’ if we the Bride of Christ will be dragged through the mud, blood and fire in the catastrophic events of the seven year tribulation period?’ There’s no hope whatsoever if that’s the case, yet some Christians wrongly insist on this false premise that we the Church will endure ‘God’s wrath’ because they simply don’t comprehend the love of God the Father. A loving Father would never allow His Son’s bride to endure the very wrath that Jesus took for us on the cross. On seven occasions in the Book of Revelation the tribulation period is described as the ‘wrath of God’ (Rev 19:15, Rev 16:19, Rev 16:1, Rev 15:7, Rev 15:1, Rev 14:10, Rev 14:19).” – Pastor Carl

Historical events in the Bible – Daniel Chapter 2

Here’s a teaching snippet:

“There’s no better way to witness to our friends, family and colleagues than to reveal to them that history is written in the bible… in advance! Yes I said it, God wrote historical events in advance, having full knowledge of their outcome, whether they be battles, empires, kings that would rise and fall, or even the rise, fall and rebirth of the nation of Israel itself. Think about it, if we compare Jehovah God, Jesus Christ to the pantheon of other false Gods, none of these ‘false Gods’ or ‘prophetic pretenders’ foretold events like our God does in His Word. In some cases these prophecies were given, hundreds of years prior to their realization. That’s why the Holy Bible is unique among all other religious writings because it houses the truth written by a God, living outside our space-time continuum, who’s ‘ever present,’ ‘all seeing,’ ‘all powerful’ and ‘all knowing.’ Today we will study Daniel Chapter 2 and King Nebuchadnezzar’s metallic statue.” – Pastor Carl
